What does Aegisys mean?
Aegis means protection and defense. Sys means systems and technology. Together, Aegisys reflects our mission: helping businesses protect the systems they depend on. From managed IT and cybersecurity to cloud hosting and Microsoft solutions, we're built around secure, reliable technology and long-term partnership.
How long has Aegisys been in business?
Since 1999 — over 25 years of hands-on experience protecting Canadian and North American businesses. That longevity means we've seen what works, what doesn't, and how to build IT that actually lasts.
Where is Aegisys located?
Our headquarters is in Sudbury, Ontario, with remote technicians based in Brockville and Newmarket. Our data centres are 100% Canadian — your data stays in Canada, with zero foreign jurisdiction exposure.
Who is Doc?
Doc is our friendly mascot — the Aegisys IT security expert who's always ready to help. You'll see him around our website and content, reminding you that great IT support should feel approachable, knowledgeable, and always on your side.

What services does Aegisys offer?
We offer Managed IT Support, Cybersecurity (SecureONE), Cloud Hosting, Microsoft 365 deployment and management, Disaster Recovery planning, and VPS Hosting. All services are backed by SOC 2 Type II certified operations and Canadian data centres.
How does Aegisys differ from other MSPs?
We use Just-In-Time (JIT) access technology — no Aegisys staff member has permanent admin credentials. Technicians must request audited access each time, limited in scope and duration. This protects your systems even if our team changes. It's security-first thinking built into every process.
What industries do you serve?
We serve healthcare, finance, legal, insurance, manufacturing, municipal government, and regulated industries. If your organization handles sensitive data or has compliance obligations, we understand your requirements.
What's the difference between your services and hiring internal IT staff?

Security & Compliance
What does SOC 2 Type II certification mean?
SOC 2 Type II is third-party audited verification that we meet stringent security, availability, and privacy controls. Independent auditors verify our policies and procedures quarterly. This gives you verified proof — not just our word — that your data is protected.
Is SOC 2 compliance required?
No, SOC 2 is not legally required in Canada. However, it's become the industry standard for MSPs that manage sensitive data or serve regulated industries. By partnering with Aegisys, you demonstrate a proactive commitment to data security and regulatory readiness.
How do you handle security threats and impersonators?
We use verified identity checks linked to your helpdesk and ours. If you get a suspicious call claiming to be IT, ask for verification through our system. If it can't be verified digitally, it's not legitimate. Same for requests we receive — we verify first, always.
What if there's a cyber threat or ransomware?
Our XDR (Extended Detection and Response) uses AI and automation to respond in minutes, not hours. When a threat is detected, the system can automatically update firewall rules and block attacks. In ransomware scenarios, we can roll back infected systems automatically — the difference between a minor incident and catastrophe.
Where does my data live?
Your data stays in our Canadian data centres in Sudbury, Ontario. Zero foreign jurisdiction exposure. If data residency is a requirement (healthcare, finance, municipal), you can verify it — your data never leaves Canada.
Support & Getting Started
How fast is your support response time?
Response time depends on severity. Critical issues get immediate response (under 15 minutes). Standard issues typically respond within 30 minutes during business hours (7 AM–7 PM EST). Emergency support is available 24/7/365 — call 1-866-961-1805 and select Option 9 after hours.
What if I'm not sure what services I need?
Schedule a free cybersecurity risk assessment. We'll review your current environment, identify gaps, and recommend right-sized solutions. No pressure, no long-term commitment. We'll tell you honestly if something isn't a good fit.
Do you offer remote support?
Yes. When a technician asks you to start a remote session, visit /remote-support and click the Launch Remote Support Tool button. It's encrypted, logged, and you control access — you can end the session anytime.
What channels can I use to contact support?
Call toll-free at 1-866-961-1805, email support@aegisys.com, log in to the Client Portal, or use the Aegisys Agent icon on your taskbar. You can also submit through /remote-support for immediate help.
Do you work with clients outside of Canada?
We primarily serve Canadian and USA organizations. We have deep expertise in Canadian compliance frameworks (PIPEDA, provincial regulations) and data residency requirements.
Trust & Transparency
Why should I trust my data with Aegisys?
Because trust should be verified, not assumed. Our SOC 2 Type II certification is third-party audited against very stringent controls. You don't have to take our word for the policies protecting your data — independent auditors verify it quarterly.
What happens if an Aegisys employee leaves?
With JIT access, departing staff can't maintain access to your systems — credentials were temporary and audited. New staff must go through the same verification process. Your security doesn't depend on individual employees staying.
Can I see your certifications and audit reports?
Yes. Visit our Trust Centre at /trust to see our SOC 2 Type II report, penetration test results, security assessments, and compliance documentation.
What if you're not a good fit for my organization?
We'll tell you. If another provider is a better fit or if you need services we don't offer, we'll say so honestly. Your success matters more than a contract.
